Terms and Conditions for Donations to AboutFace-USA®
Discretion of Acceptance The acceptance of any contribution, gift, or grant is at the sole discretion of AboutFace-USA®. AboutFace-USA® reserves the right to decline any gift if it cannot be used or expended in alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and purposes.
Donor Financial Security AboutFace-USA® will not accept any irrevocable gift, whether outright or life-income in nature, if the gift may reasonably jeopardize the financial security of the donor.
Tax and Legal Advice AboutFace-USA® does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice. Donors are encouraged to consult with their own professional advisors to determine the potential tax and financial consequences of their contributions.
Types of Acceptable Donations AboutFace-USA® will accept donations in the form of:
Gifts of real property, personal property, non-liquid securities, or other contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted in some manner may require additional review to ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
Acknowledgment of Gifts AboutFace-USA® will provide donors with appropriate acknowledgment of their contributions, in accordance with IRS regulations. However, except for gifts of cash and publicly traded securities, no monetary value will be ascribed to any acknowledgment or receipt issued by AboutFace-USA®.
Restricted and Anonymous Gifts AboutFace-USA® will respect donors' intentions regarding gifts designated for specific purposes, provided those purposes align with the organization’s mission and values. Donors who wish to remain anonymous will have their privacy respected, and information about such gifts will only be shared with authorized staff members on a need-to-know basis.
Ineligible Contributions AboutFace-USA® will not accept donations or contributions that: Come with conditions that conflict with the organization’s mission, values, or compliance obligations. Could create legal, ethical, or reputational risks. Require compensation to a third party for directing a gift to AboutFace-USA®, such as commissions or finders’ fees.
Non-Discrimination Policy AboutFace-USA® operates in compliance with all federal, state, and local non-discrimination laws. Contributions from any individual or entity will be evaluated based on their alignment with our mission, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or other protected statuses.
