Project GROW
Cultivating Wellness and Community through
Indoor, Aeroponic Farming
At AboutFace-USA®, we are proud to introduce AboutFace Farm, the first indoor vertical aeroponic farm in Cumming, Georgia. This innovative farm is a partnership between AboutFace-USA, a nonprofit serving veterans, and Sweetwater Urban Farms. Together, we are creating a space that not only produces fresh, nutritious food but also provides therapeutic gardening experiences for veterans and the community.
AboutFace Farm is the cornerstone of Project GROW (Gardening Recreation Outreach Wellness), a holistic initiative focused on whole-health wellness, social engagement, and self-sufficiency. Through hands-on aeroponic farming, veterans gain valuable skills, foster a sense of purpose, and connect with others in their community—all while supporting their mental health and well-being. Our farm hosts gardening workshops, business training, and special events to engage and educate both veterans and the public.
The Project GROW initiative allows veterans to engage in sustainable farming practices while finding emotional and mental relief through the therapeutic benefits of gardening. Veterans and their families are welcomed to participate in our indoor aeroponic farming, learning how to grow microgreens and other fresh produce.
Your donations help make this possible—from funding holistic mental health services to offering free access to these agricultural programs. Together, we can support our veterans as they rebuild their lives, offering them both physical and mental nourishment.
Where Your Support Goes
Your generous donations directly impact the following:
$46 provides a veteran with transportation to and from medical appointments or job interviews through our Veteran Ride Service. |
$150 sponsors an hour of mental health counseling through Pathlight Behavioral Health. |
$160 funds holistic healing classes for up to 15 veterans, offering workshops on emotional well-being, yoga, meditation, and more, led by Carolyn Agosta. |
$30 provides a peer support session with one of our experienced Veteran Peer Specialists. |
$500 helps sustain our bi-monthly veteran peer support groups, led by Keegan Merritt and Mike Brooks, fostering connection and community. |
$15 offers a veteran on-call support with a Veteran Peer Specialist. |
$50 provides a veteran with a one-hour financial literacy class, empowering them with the tools to regain control of their financial future. Many veterans face financial instability post-service, and your support helps them rebuild that foundation of security and independence. |
By donating, you’re ensuring these vital programs continue to thrive, providing life-changing services for veterans.
Meet Our Partners
In addition to our impactful work at AboutFace Farm, we are honored to highlight our partner, Sweetwater Urban Farms, which was recently featured on the popular Homegrown TV series aired on MAX and Discovery+. This national recognition underscores Sweetwater’s commitment to sustainable, innovative farming practices and community engagement.

At the heart of AboutFace Farm’s success is not just the produce we grow but the people who help make it happen. Each Wednesday and Friday, we are honored to welcome a dedicated group of young adults from Project RISE, a special program designed to provide hands-on learning opportunities for students. Led by their teachers, Erin and Jodi, these exceptional students bring enthusiasm, care, and a sense of purpose to our farm operations.
The Project RISE team—Maeve, Caleb, Piper, Maddie, and Drew—are more than just interns; they are a vital part of our community. Under the guidance of Clint and Sheree Crowe from Sweetwater Urban Farms, these young adults assist in tending to our Tower Gardens, harvesting produce, and maintaining the garden’s operations. Their work is not only helping the farm thrive but is also building their own confidence and skills as they learn the rhythms of sustainable farming.
Watching these incredible individuals grow alongside the plants they nurture is truly inspiring. Each day they are here, they contribute more than just their labor—they bring joy, dedication, and a sense of unity to everything we do. Their efforts reflect the core mission of AboutFace Farm: to cultivate healing, hope, and connection through community and nature.
Together with the Project RISE students, we are planting seeds not just for healthy food but for a brighter, more inclusive future. We are endlessly grateful for their contributions and are proud to be a part of their journey.
